About us

My name is AnnaLisa Iacomelli and in 2018 my life was turned upside down.

I had just experienced the loss of one of my two cats, who had been with me for nine years. Although cats have always been part of my life since I was little, with them I experienced a very intense relationship.

Having lost him, I could not even imagine the idea of taking another animal just to try to fill the void he had left, and above all I was certain of one thing: if I ever decided to try a similar love again, it would certainly be another cat. But fate wanted me to meet a friend who put me in touch with an association that helps rescue Spanish sighthounds find homes, and so in May it all began.

An adorable black galga was chosen for us; she had been rescued while wandering and begging for food, and we gave her the name “Mati”. I fell in love at first sight, both thinking about her past and observing the signs of a suffering and painful existence on her body, as well as the fears that have faded over time, allowing her wonderful character to blossom.

But that is not all: this first encounter, this awareness of a terrible reality that strikes such innocent beings, made me understand that there is a solution and that I could contribute. So after six months Floki also arrived, immediately becoming Mati’s big brother and breaking the loneliness that had inevitably been created following the sudden disappearance of the other little cat. And finally Orion, who arrived in 2023, abandoned almost as a puppy, probably not suitable for hunting. He immediately became part of the family, becoming the spoiled child, something that after all this is more than deserved.

My husband and I do our utmost to guarantee them, without any preference, the most intense and sincere visceral love we are able to give.

It was thanks to Mati, the inspiring muse, and the desire to give her name to the logo, that MATI LEVRIERI was born.

So I decided to start producing my own collars and thus be able to design and make them my own way according to my needs and faithfully respecting my work ethic. So I searched for and found the craftsman to whom I proposed the project, and we began research into materials, product efficiency, and also the design of many different designs and colours. The sighthound collar, given the shape of their neck, must have a roughly cylindrical shape so that, distributing itself over a larger surface of the neck, it prevents both the sensation of choking that a normal collar would cause a sighthound, and provides greater security against the risk of slipping off by the dog itself.

All of this is contained in the collars that I created after various research and numerous prototypes, bringing everything together in a wide catalogue of wonderful designs to satisfy any stylistic choice.

The leather, being of the very highest quality, allows over time a natural adaptation to the sighthound’s neck, leading to greater comfort for our and your beloved sighthounds.
